Plaintiffs and others were waiting behind a police barrier to cross the street. Plaintiffs were given permission by a police officer to cross the street, when without warning, an officer tackled Plaintiffs to the ground and forcibly arrested Plaintiffs, despite Plaintiffs not resisting. Plaintiffs were falsely accused of obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arresting. While in custody, one of the Plaintiffs requested medical attention, where he was treated at Bellevue Hospital for his injuries, which included bruises to his arms and legs. The same Plaintiff informed officers that he was on a certain medication Welbutrin, and the officers took him to the psychiatry ward at Bellevue Hospital, where he spent approximately 6 hours handcuffed to a wheelchair.\n\nAfter spending approximately 29 hours in police custody, Plaintiffs were released. The officers provided false material statements in the charging paperwork. After numerous court appearances, all criminal charges were dismissed.
