Defendant Officer Anthony Rodriguez pulled over the driver of the vehicle, reached inside to grab the driver's license and registration, when the driver sped off, striking the Defendant's arm. The Defendant, believing Plaintiff to have been driving, put up \"wanted\" posters alleging vehicular assault of a police officer. On October 3, 2015, Plaintiff became aware of the wanted poster and contacted a criminal defense lawyer, who arranged for Plaintiff to meet with the police on October 6, 2015. On October 5, 2015, several unidentified plain clothes police officers arrived at Defendant's apartment and arrested Plaintiff without telling him why he was being arrested, and transferred him to the local precincts. Plaintiff's attorney arrived with exculpatory evidence showing that Plaintiff was working at the time of the incident and could not have been driving his car, but the Defendant police officers refused to view the evidence. Plaintiff was transferred to central booking and arraigned on October 6, 2015, after being detained for approximately 25 hours in total.
