Unbeknownst to Plaintiff, her boyfriend’s relative had called the police earlier that day and alleged that she had violated a restraining order in place against her. Multiple police cars approached her in response to this call, Plaintiff ran from the police before she could process the situation. Defendant Officer Dugue and Defendant Officers John Does forcefully tackled Plaintiff pushing her to the ground, using excessive force without justification, including applying weight to her lower back and pressing against the ground with the officer’s knee. Other officer Defendants also struck and/or stomped on Plaintiff while she was on the ground. She suffered abrasions, cuts, bruising, swelling, and ongoing pain to her head, neck, back, foot, and other parts of her body. After being brought to the police precinct, Plaintiff noticed blood in the bathroom which intensified over the coming hours and days. Approximately ten days after the assault, the hospital confirmed the loss of her pregnancy. Plaintiff continues to suffer physical pain, including in her back, as well as psychological and mental distress, fear, apprehension, nervousness, humiliation, and depression.
