The next couple of years she was transferred to other precincts. In 2012, Plaintiff was arrested after her mother, who had dementia and Alzheimer's, became agitated at a family barbecue where she was cursing and yelling. Here, she left and returned with the police department and Plaintiff was arrested as a result of the incident. When the criminal case was dismissed, Plaintiff's internal disciplinary charges were dismissed as well. Defendants could have terminated Plaintiff for this violation only if the criminal conviction has a direct relationship to her employment as an Aide with the NYPD or if her. continued employment posed an \"unreasonable risk\" to the public. Plaintiff excelled in her positions with the NYPD. In July 2021, Plaintiff asked for a merit increase in salary, a transfer to a lucrative specialized unit and more overtime to the Defendant Abdullah. At a meeting with Defendant Abdullah, Plaintiff was asked \"For the last 22 years, what have you done for us?\" Following Plaintiff's pitch, Defendant Abdullah responded that Plaintiff cannot be given these lucrative positions because she was subsequently arrested. Plaintiff's previous arrest and dismissal of those charges had no basis on Plaintiff's employment. Plaintiff was forced to lose thousands of dollars in lost income due to her arrest history. On January 26, 2022, Plaintiff was forced to retire from the NYPD. Plaintiff, if afforded the chance to progress within the NYPD, would have worked with the Defendants until the age of 63.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=311ByZUof/CPAK7XqhOVwQ==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Pierre, Jerole vs Mayor Eric Adams, et al.","start_date":"2022-08-10","disposition_date":"2024-03-28","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"Zero Disposition","docket":"22CV01171","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","documents":[{"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.476680/gov.uscourts.nyed.476680.43.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/63134271/pierre-v-adams/"},{"name":"Pemberton, Clyde, Dr., et al. vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2018-09-05","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"18CV07908","court":"U.S. District Court - Southern District NY","officer_name":"Abdullah, Khandakar","summary":"Plaintiffs were concerned about an unconscious woman at the bar they work at/own when the woman's friends yelled racial slurs and assaulted Plaintiff.
