Pagan was assaulted in connection with this stop and frisk, as the officers grabbed her, handcuffed her, and exerted excessive force against her.  This included battering her head, neck, back, body, and limbs to such an extent that she was rendered lame and has had to seek medical attention, since the injuries prevented her from being able to conduct her normal job.  Following this assault, Plaintiff was detained and arrested, after having been falsely accused of having committed a crime.  Pagan was brought by the Defendants to a Bronx police station, where she was fingerprinted and photographed.  Pagan's detention continued for an extended period of time - over 24 hours - and she was subjected to degradation and embarrassment, including being strip searched.
