NYPD employees Stephon Stephens and Anthony Moodie fabricated evidence leading to the false arrest. They were driving at a dangerously high speed and crashed into Sharize's car that was stopping at a stop sign. When the police officers arrived, Stephens and Moodie falsely claimed that they were being attacked with a weapon by Sharize. During the conversation between the police officers and Stephens and Moodie, however, they continuously showed lack of detail of incident and changed details of their description of the event as well. Torrisi tried to look for the weapon described, but was unable to find it as well. Upon failure to find the weapon described, Torrisi and the Stephens and Moodie conspired to fabricate evidence - that Sharize's work tool was a weapon. The officers also did not interview Sharize nor passengers of his car and Torrisi's recording shows that the police officers were at least motivated to false arrest for the over-time pay. Despite multiple evidences to the contrary -such as Stephens and Moddie's 911 call and common-sense from the circumstances showing otherwise, Torrisi and Feger arrested Sharize. In the course of this arrest, furthermore, the officers harassed Sharize excessively, causing him both permanent injury, defamanation, and mental distress.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=17ORplRSVNWV9t_PLUS_LMWoTnQ==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Williams, Antoinette, et al. vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2019-08-27","disposition_date":"2021-11-01","payout_amount":90000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"028332/2019E","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"DeCaro, Gerardo","summary":"On March 16, 2019, Plaintiffs were in a vehicle when NYPD officers Ariana Esteban, Carlos Garcia, Gerardo Decaro and Lewis Nunez and unnamed officers handcuffed and falsely arrested them.
