At the precinct, plaintiff witnessed her son being punched in the face and pepper-sprayed while handcuffed, and as a result she screamed and asked the responsible offers why they were assaulting her son. Approximately five NYPD officers including Defendant Officers Galvin Ferguson, David Terrell, and Jane Vasquez then exited the precinct, causing plaintiff to fear for her safety. Plaintiff started walking down the block, but defendant officers caught up to her, and a large male officer bear hugged plaintiff, picked her up in the air, and slammed her down to the sidewalk. Plaintiff landed on her back and hit her head on the sidewalk, suffering physical injuries. Plaintiff was then handcuffed, taken to the 42nd Precinct, strip searched and arrested. While in custody at both the 42nd Precinct and Bronx Central Booking, plaintiff requested access to medical care but was denied treatment. Plaintiff was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration, allegedly on the basis of false sworn complaints.
