On that same evening, she underwent orthopedic surgery at Jamaica Hospital. While preparing for surgery, in and out of consciousness, officers from the 105th precinct arrived and explained there was a warrant for her arrest. \n\nFive days after her surgery, on or about October 22, 2018,  two officers from the 105th Precinct arrived to take Plaintiff to process her charges. After being brought to the precinct, two new officers, Officer Brian Ortiz and Officer Orlando Insignares arrived to take her to Queens Central Booking. Officer Ortiz and Insignares demanded Plaintiff to get in the van by herself after she explained she underwent surgery and could not walk on her leg. Attempting to hop on her good leg, both officers laughed at her, refused to look at her medical records, grabbed her, lifted her up, and threw her face first into the van. Feeling extreme physical and emotional pain from the degrading treatment, Officers drove erratically while Plaintiff suffered shocking pain with no way to secure her body. \n\nAt Queens Central Booking, both officers dragged Plaintiff to get fingerprints and pictures, and dragged her through the metal detector. Both officers audibly cursed when they realized they had ignored her truthful pleas. Both officers then brought her to the EMT office, where an EMT medic expressed shock at the conduct, but did not attempt to assist Plaintiff, nor was she taken to the hospital. After appearing before the judge at Queens Criminal Court, and being released to recover from her surgery, Officer Ortiz and Insignares again picked Plaintiff up and dragged her out of the courtroom, allowing the swinging door to exit and slam on her leg on purpose. As a result of these incidents, Plaintiff had to undergo a second surgery.
