Plaintiff was filming the protesters as they marched towards the waterfront when a mass of police officers arrived on the scene in riot gear and began to charge toward and arrest the protesters.  Plaintiff crossed the street to film the arrests and was approached by an unidentified police officer, who asked for his press pass.  Plaintiff responded that he was an independent journalist and did not have one, at which point the officer grabbed plaintiff by the arm, dragged him to a nearby wall, and began arresting the plaintiff with two other officers, cuffing him tightly with plastic zip cuffs and patting him down.  Plaintiff was placed in the back of a police van with several other protesters, and without his protective mask, which had been torn off of his face during his interaction with the officers.\n\nThe officers informed the District Attorney's Office that plaintiff had committed the crime of Obstructing Governmental Administration, and he was detained for approximately 8 hours before being released with a Desk Appearance Ticket.  When his belongings were returned to him upon his release, an unidentified officer informed plaintiff that he would not be getting back approximately $6,500 in recording equipment that had been in his possession at the time of his arrest.  The equipment has still not been returned to plaintiff.
