Police Officer Kristine Gray, along with other unnamed New York City Police Officers (referred to as John Doe), observed the incident. Despite having no reasonable believe that Ali was under the influence of alcohol, Officer Gray and the others handcuffed and arrested him. \n\nAfter the arrest, Ali was subject to a breath test administered by Officer Konstantin Vithoulkas, who falsely claimed that Ali's test indicated alcohol in his system, despite Ali having no alcohol in his breath or blood. Ali was held in a local precinct and later transported to New York County Criminal Court, where he was arraigned the next day on charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle while intoxicated. Ali made several court appearances before the charges were dismissed on February 27, 2020.
