Plaintiff pulled his vehicle over and attempted to assist the woman, who explained that her car broke down while she was driving and she did not know what to do. Plaintiff attempted to charge the woman's car battery but despite Plaintiff's efforts was unable to get the woman's car running, so Plaintiff called 911 to report the disabled vehicle and to request assistance for the woman. Defendant Police Officer Ralph Giordano, Police Officer Saeed Rubaid, and Sergeant Bekim Becaj responded to the scene and thanked Plaintiff for helping the woman when they arrived. Defendant officers continued to assist the woman, but before Plaintiff left the scene he asked whether they could give him a PBA card. Defendants did not have any cards and stated they usually only give them to close friends and family but told Plaintiff they would have them at the Precinct the following dat and they would give him one in exchange for $100. Plaintiff arrived at the Precinct on January 10, 2017 and attempted to purchase a PBA card, when Defendants unlawfully handcuffed and arrested Plaintiff. Defendant officers accused Plaintiff of committing Bribery. While in custody Plaintiff advised Defendants of his medical ailments and that he needed to take medication, but the Defendants refused to permit him to take his medication. As a result, Plaintiff missed three doses, which caused him to become dizzy as he was going through withdrawal from his psychiatric medications. Defendant officers continued to ignore Plaintiff's request to take his medicine. Plaintiff began to suffer from chest pains and had an asthma attack on January 11, 2017 while at Central Booking. Plaintiff suffered from an anxiety attack, asthma attack and chest pains while he was detained at Central Booking and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Plaintiff was not given the proper psychiatric medications he required while at the hospital because the list of medications he was supposed to take was ripped up by the Defendants earlier that night. As a result, Plaintiff was not psychiatrically well for approximately 3 days after he was released from custody. During that time period Plaintiff was anxious, depressed, disoriented, and suffered severe emotional distress. Plaintiff could not drive or function very well during that time period, and missed three shifts at his security job and lost income at that job in the amount of $2400 and missed approximately 60 hours as a driver and lost income at that job in the amount of approximately $3,000. Plaintiff was detained for over 24 hours and released on his own recognizance. On February 8, 2017, the People moved to dismiss the count of Bribery. Plaintiff then moved to dismiss all charges but on May 1, 2017, the People filed a superseding information and statement of readiness. On these separate occasions, Plaintiffs were either driving, walking, standing next to a parked vehicle, or at a deli lawfully when stopped. In each incident, Plaintiffs were forcibly patted down and had their vehicles searched when vehicles were involved. The officers offered either no explanation or false excuse as to why Plaintiffs were stopped. As part of the October 25, 2013 incident, one plaintiff was falsely charged with an offense and the charge was eventually dismissed. The November 9, 2013 incident at the deli involved officers Williams and Brown. After arresting the Plaintiffs and bringing them to the precinct, they falsely charged Plaintiffs with trespass. The plaintiff complied, but continued filming and refused to present identification. The officers arrested the plaintiff for obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. A jury trial occurred July 7-9, 2015, before Justice Gilbert Hong.
