Plaintiff was lawfully driving when defendants unlawfully pulled plaintiff over. Plaintiff complied with defendants’ directives. Plaintiff voluntarily exited the vehicle when directed to do so when defendants aggressively approached plaintiff and unlawfully placed her under arrest. Defendants punched and kicked plaintiff. Defendants slammed plaintiff against a car, and aggressively contorted plaintiff’s arms and wrists behind her back to apply metal handcuffs in an excessively tight fashion. Plaintiff complained numerous times the tight handcuffs were causing pain but she was ignored. Defendants conducted an illegal search of plaintiff’s person by searching through her pockets and patting her down all over in the open view of other people. Defendants grabbed plaintiff while she was rear-handcuffed, shoved her into a police vehicle and transported her against her will to a local NYPD Precinct. Plaintiff was fingerprinted, photographed, searched, retina-scanned, and placed in a disgusting cell. Plaintiff sustained significant injuries and was transported to Brookdale Hospital. Plaintiff was brought back to the precinct before being transported to Central Booking. The criminal charges were dismissed and sealed, which constituted a termination in plaintiff's favor.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=HjXmnl0n55Idkzn778kRxg==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Watson, Sheawn vs City of Ny, et al.","start_date":"2023-02-14","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"504872/2023","court":"Supreme Court - Kings","summary":"On April 20, 2021, while the plaintiff, an African American, was on a street, defendant NYPD officers, including Mathew Salzman, Orlando Perez, Neil Narayan, and John or Jane Doe 1-10, falsely identified the plaintiff as a gunshot suspect, despite the plaintiff repeatedly explaining that he had not committed any illegal actions. The defendants proceeded to arrest the plaintiff. During the arrest, the defendants violently grabbed the plaintiff, jerking and pulling him in different directions, and threw him to the ground, placing their knees on his back and neck without any reasonable cause. They tightly handcuffed the plaintiff, ignoring his requests to loosen the restraints. After being taken to the precinct, the plaintiff was maliciously prosecuted.
