Raydo was walking toward a train station with plaintiff Lang when a group of individuals began making disparaging remarks about plaintiff Raydo's appearance. Plaintiff Raydo asked them to leave them alone, and one of the individuals, defendant Officer John Doe #1, lunged at plaintiff Raydo in response. Officer John Doe #1 knocked them to the ground, which caused them to hit their head, lose consciousness, and receive a concussion. Officer John Doe #1 then knocked Mrs. Lang to the ground and into the gutter while another officer arrested her. The officers knocked off her glasses in the process and refused to return them until much later. Other officers were slamming Mx. Raydo into a wall as they regained consciousness and then arrested them. \n\nThe officers refused to explain why plaintiffs Raydo and Lang were being arrested. Plaintiffs Raydo and Lang were transported to the precinct where they were mocked for their gender presentation, strip-searched, and groped repeatedly. Mx. Raydo was then handcuffed to a bench for nine hours, which broke their skin and bruised their wrist. The officers refused both plaintiffs a phone call, and Mrs. Lang, who is female-identifying, was placed in a male holding cell. Mrs. Lang was released after 9 hours, but Mx.
