After being brought into custody under arrest and interrogation, Plaintiff was re-arrested and falsely charged with attempted murder. Defendant officers claimed Plaintiff was involved in an incident that took place on January 13, 2021, where an individual (JR) was repeatedly struck with a crowbar and stabbed by another (ST), while ST's wife (\"Michelle\") looked on. While \"Michelle\" may have been present, there was insufficient evidence to established probable cause that \"Michelle\" had attempted to murder JR. \n\nAt the time of Plaintiff's arrest, Defendant officers did not have probable cause or reasonable suspicion to believe Plaintiff had committed attempted murder. Defendants knew or should have known Plaintiff was innocent or at least inquired into the matter prior to making any arrest. Defendants possessed or had access to information that would have demonstrated that they were arresting the wrong person. After Plaintiff's arrest she was subjected to a search of the intimate parts of her body causing embarrassment and humiliation.\n\nWhile transported to central booking, Defendants penetrated multiple assault and batteries upon Plaintiff, including handcuffing excessively tight and refusing to adjust the restraints despite demands for them to do so. Defendants prepared false sworn affidavits and false police reports. Defendants later provided false and incomplete information despite knowing they lacked a legal and factual basis to allege Plaintiff committed any crime. Plaintiff was eventually unlawfully detained for 7 months before being released. While incarcerated Plaintiff was assaulted by other inmates.
