While at the precinct, the plaintiff was arrested, placed in handcuffs, booked and incarcerated, and thereafter charged and indicted for attempted murder in the second degree and gang assault in the first degree. However, the plaintiff was at home at the time when the alleged assault was committed and the plaintiff provided that the allegations against him were false and fabricated. The plaintiff was incarcerated as a pre-trial detainee for the next two and half years while awaiting trial. \nOn trial, evidences showed that officers had withheld and failed to disclose exculpatory evidence, including witness testimony, which categorically supported that the plaintiff was innocent of any wrongdoing.
