Maraio, Lieutenant Charles D. Miele and other defendant officers (together the \"defendants\") committed various acts against plaintiff. \n\nPlaintiff was walking when he was approached and unlawfully arrested by the defendants. Defendants provided no information as to the reason for the arrest at that time. Plaintiff had arrived at arounf 3.30pm in his capacity as Jewish Community violence interrupter (a role to help de-escalate interactions between the police and civilians) as a shooting had happened there earlier that day. Plaintiff was directed by NYPD to park some distance from where the shooting had occurred and he complied. After completing his duties about an hour later he went to charge his phone in his car. He also grabbed a charger from his car for an acquaintance a few feet away. When he turned around there was a line of police blocking his way to his vehicle. Upon his approach to his vehicle defendants grabbed him and arrested him placing very tight handcuffs on him, causing prolonged numbness to his wrists. Plaintiff was illegally detained for around 25 hours. Defendants had clearly searched his vehicle and poured a container of gasoline in the trunk over clothes, ruining them. Defendants commenced and continued a malicious prosecution against plaintiff without probable cause. Each defendant failed to intervene in the above incident at all stages. Plaintiff suffered frin the negligent/intentional inflction of emotional distress.
