Police officers Steven Amato, Jake Waiser, Fire Department Emergency Medical Technician(EMT)/Paramedic Schuyler Gazzo, Fire Department EMT Andrew Yen, and Firefighters John Doe 1-10 responded to Hamid's family's 911 call. The police officers entered Hamid's home and demanded that she wait with them for the ambulance. Meanwhile, Hamid's family informed the above personnel with Hamid's prior medical history: she had an open heart surgery. Hamid then declined to go to the hospital with the officers, on which the officers replied that she will only be seen by the EMTs in the ambulance. However, once at the ambulance, Hamid learned that the officers intended to take her to the hospital against her will. When Hamid demanded that she go back to her family, the officers threatened her with a taser, assaulted, battered her, and abandoned her at a hospital. At no time did the officers have a justifiable cause to assault and batter her in an excessive manner. Specficially, despite knowing that Hamid had an open heart surgery, one of the firefighters placed his knee on her chest. Amato stabbed Hamid with a syringe and breaking it, causing severe bruise.
