Plaintiff tried to run for safety, but the officer chased him out of the building and tackled him to the ground while eight additional plainclothes officers descended from three different directions. Pressing Plaintiff against the pavement with his hands pinned behind his back, the officers, from the Bronx Narcotics Unit, stomped on him and repeatedly punched and kicked him. Then they dragged him to the back of their van and – while calling him “n*****” and “cockroach” – punched him in the groin until he passed out. The Plaintiff was handcuffed and the handcuffs were too tight. The Plaintiff requested to see a doctor, but the request was denied. He was arraigned based on false information. On December 1, 2020, he was transported to Rikers Island, then released on December 14, 2020. On April 20, 2022, the criminal charges against Plaintiff were dismissed.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.594709/gov.uscourts.nysd.594709.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/66906030/williams-v-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Scott, Roger vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2020-03-16","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"022886/2020E","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Maldonado, Luis","summary":"On January 18, 2018, Plaintiff ROGER SCOTT, a hispanic male, was illegally stopped, searched, detained and subjected to excessive force by defendants POLICE OFFICER VICTOR REYES, POLICE OFFICER LUIS MALDONADO, and NYPD POLICE OFFICERS JOHN or JANE DOE 1-10.
