Plaintiff complied and produced his identification. Officers then unlawfully searched Plaintiff; no contraband was recovered. Plaintiff was handcuffed and taken to the precinct without legal basis. At the precinct, officers unlawfully conducted a strip search of Plaintiff. Again, no contraband was recovered. Nevertheless, police officers falsely informed employees of the DA’s Office that they had observed Plaintiff in criminal possession of a controlled substance and prepared false paperwork including an arrest report. Plaintiff was arraigned and then taken to Rikers Island where he was held for approximately six days. Plaintiff was forcibly confined and imprisoned for a period of twenty-two days.
