When Plaintiff Paul Ben-David confronted the officer, the officer challenged Paul to a fight. Paul walked away and the officer grabbed him and injured his shoulder. Without identifying himself as a police officer, the officer then pulled out a hidden firearm and pointed it at Plaintiffs. Another plainclothes officer sprayed mace in Paul's eyes without identifying himself. The officers then identified themselves and handcuffed and arrested Paul. An officer grabbed Dalila from behind and smashed her face twice against the hood of the car before arresting her. Plaintiffs were detained for approximately 23 hours before arraignment.
