Plaintiff was standing in Kings County Supreme Court when Defendant NYPD officers and detectives handcuffed Plaintiff and brought him to the 25th Precinct in New York County. At no time did Plaintiff violate the law. Plaintiff was unlawfully searched, then transported to Central Bookings. While at Central Bookings, an unnamed officer pepper sprayed the cell that Plaintiff was in, causing his eyes to burn and hurt for hours. The officers falsely states to the District Attorney's Office that Plaintiff was engaged in Burglary without any evidence. On August 6, 2020, after approximately 24 hours in unlawful custody, Plaintiff was arraigned. Plaintiff remained unlawfully incarcerated at Rikers Island for approximately 6 days.
