The officers claimed that her son had run a red light and almost hit the police vehicle. However, there was no traffic light at the intersection where officers claimed the light was ran. The officers issued a summons to Plaintiff's son for reckless driving and permitted them to drive on. Almost immediately, the officers again stopped Plaintiff's vehicle, this time with an additional 6 officers surrounding the car. While stopped the second time, Plaintiff's son asked to speak to the sergeant and simultaneously dialed 911 because he was in fear for his life. The officers at the scene responded by spraying a large amount of pepper spray or mace into Plaintiff's vehicle. Officers then smashed the passenger side window and forcefully removed Plaintiff from the car. Officers also opened the driver side door and forcefully removed Plaintiff's son and repeatedly beat him on the ground. Plaintiff was then placed in tight handcuffs, taken to the precinct, and charged with Disorderly Conduct. The charges were later dismissed.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.412364/gov.uscourts.nysd.412364.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/5542861/gutierrez-v-city-of-new-york/"},{"name":"Winkfield, Nicole vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2013-04-25","disposition_date":"2014-01-29","payout_amount":20000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"302592/2013","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Ernst, Michael W."},{"officer_name":"Ernst, Michael W.","disposition":"Settlement","start_date":"2011-10-12","disposition_date":"2022-09-22","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","docket":"308365/2011","name":"Veras, Luis A. vs City of New York, et La.","payout_amount":1500000}],"id":"KVZR","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/KVZR"}
