Plaintiff was handcuffed on the ground and was lying prone and compliant, when a defendant officer approached and struck him in the head with a hard metal object. Defendant officers then viciously beat Plaintiff, especially about the face. A crowd of people witnessed the assault, including the proprietor of a salon in the immediate vicinity. Following the assault, Plaintiff was bleeding from his head and face. Defendants did not call an ambulance for Plaintiff and left him to bleed in the back of a police vehicle that was driven to the 81st Precinct. At the precinct, defendants continued to refuse Plaintiff medical care.  Plaintiff, bloody, in extreme pain and discomfort and in urgent need of medical attention, was placed in a cell. When an ambulance arrived about two hours later, PO Louis forced Plaintiff to travel to the Woodhall hospital without his shoes or shirt. At the hospital, while Plaintiff was handcuffed, medical staff used four staples to close his head injury and seven stitches to close a deep laceration over his right eyebrow. Plaintiff later returned to the hospital for removal of the staples and stitches.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.358874.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/4323541/bryant-v-gebbia/"},{"officer_name":"Louis, Diery","disposition":"Settlement","start_date":"2012-03-28","disposition_date":"2013-03-28","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","docket":"12CV01292","name":"Lynch, Kester vs City of New York, et al.","payout_amount":20000,"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/12957105/lynch-v-po-lewis/"},{"officer_name":"Louis, Diery","disposition":"Settlement","start_date":"2011-09-06","disposition_date":"2013-03-12","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","docket":"11CV04267","name":"Ward, Michael P. vs City of New York, et al.","payout_amount":12000,"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/12956814/ward-v-the-city-of-new-york/"}],"documents":[{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22119965-940395_10172017_2017030pdf","date":"2017-10-17T00:00:00.000Z","type":"trial-decision"},{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/22120066-940395_09102015_2015028pdf","date":"2015-09-10T00:00:00.000Z","type":"trial-decision"}],"image":"https://www.50-a.org/images/officer/L56T-diery-louis.jpg","is_credibility":true,"news":[{"url":"https://patch.com/new-york/bed-stuy/untrustworthy-bed-stuy-cops-cost-city-900k-records-report","title":"'Untrustworthy' Bed-Stuy Cops Cost City $900K: Records And Report","source":"Patch","date":"2019-11-07"}],"id":"L56T","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/L56T"}
