Elbassiony’s friend threw his cell phone to her, at which point Officers Topi, Mosby, and Doe grabbed Elbassiony and violently shook her from side to side. Elbassiony heard her knee pop and went to the hospital, where Officers Mei and Varrone came to speak with her. Elbassiony told the officers that she wished to make a complaint; the officers left, and later returned to place Elbassiony under arrest. Elbassiony was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, disorderly conduct, and harassment. Officer Drozd falsely stated that Elbassiony refused to comply with police commands, and attempted to grab Officer Pascale. At trial, Officer Slavin testified that he felt something jump on their back.
