As Compet was swiping his MetroCard to enter the subway platform, Compet saw young man gain entry to the platform without paying the fare. As Compet walked toward the platform, he was approached and stopped by an NYPD officer who said Compet had entered without paying the subway fare. Compet had said he paid and showed the officer his MetroCard. The officer grabbed Compet by the backpack and threw him to the ground. The officer called for backup. The second NYPD officer got there and assisted in searching and handcuffing Compet. The witness approached the officers and told them they had the wrong person. The officers told the witness to shut up and mind her own business. Compet was transported to a police precinct. Compet was refused an interpreter although he repeatedly requested one. The officers made false allegations to the Kings County District Attorney's Office.
