Mr. Edwards was involved in a disagreement with another resident of the shelter, when the defendants, including Officers Noel, Watson, green and Habekost approached him in a threatening manner. The defendants targeted Mr. Edwards because of their racially discriminatory beliefs. The defendants physically assaulted Mr. Edwards, punching and kicking him about his body, and then slamming him to the floor.
