Mr. walsh called the police and informed them he was an off duty court officer who needed help. Mr. Walsh was told by the officers sample and liebowitz that he should shake hands and move on. Mr. Walsh said as part of his employment he must file a formal report if he dials 911. The police then returned and let him know an additional witness said that Mr. Walsh was at fault and should be arrested. Mr. Walsh was then handcuffed and arrested. Mr, Walsh had all charges against him dropped. Retired NYPD officer David Vadala attempted to enter through the exit door. Walsh told him that he would have to use the hotel entrance, and Vadala pushed him. This instigated a physical altercation where Walsh had to defend himself and punch Vadala in the face. Several police officers intervened and restrained Vadala. Lieutenant Jason Lunsford told Walsh that he would have to go to the 18th Precinct to swear out a complaint. At the Precinct Officer Michael Clark, told Walsh that he would have to agree to not press charges and Walsh refused. Sergeant Catherine Roach then entered the room and told Walsh to give his account. Vadala accused him of changing his story. Then Roach asked him a second time if he would agree to not press charges, and when Walsh refused Roach arrested him based on a cross-complaint by Vadala.\n\nWalsh was handcuffed, searched, detained, fingerprinted, photographed, and charged with two counts of assault and one count of harassment against Vadala.
