The Defendants entered the apartment to arrest another person but confronted the Plaintiff, even though the Plaintiff had not committed a crime, was not acting suspiciously, and was not observed committing any crime. The Defendants ordered the Plaintiff to place his hands on the wall, which the Plaintiff obeyed. Despite not resisting arrest, the Defendants struck the Plaintiff’s head against the wall, hit him repeatedly, dropped him to the ground, handcuffed his wrists excessively tightly, and conducted themselves in an abusive and rude manner. Some of the Defendants did not touch the Plaintiff but observed the others violently handling him and failed to intervene. \n\nAs a result of these violent actions, the Plaintiff was bruised and bleeding. He was treated for injuries at the precinct and then transported from Central Booking to the hospital for further treatment. At the hospital, he was diagnosed with a head laceration and had to get sutures. The Plaintiff was charged with several crimes, including criminal possession of a controlled substance. The case was ultimately dismissed via a plea to a non-criminal violation. As a result of the Defendants’ actions, the Plaintiff sustained physical injuries, psychological pain, emotional distress, mental anguish, fear, embarrassment, humiliation, and financial loss.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=meaik83G/Fnp8ax0k3FcJQ==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Ortiz, Ernesto vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2015-01-20","disposition_date":"2016-08-15","payout_amount":55000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"500537/2015","court":"Supreme Court - Kings","officer_name":"Ajasa, Ade T.","summary":"On March 29, 2012 Plaintiff was lawfully sleeping at a friend's apartment when PO Washington Mosquera, Det.
