Defendants detained and arrested Plaintiff, and falsely charged him with disorderly conduct violations and moving infractions. After Plaintiff’s arrest, he was held in police custody a number of hours\nbefore being released with four summonses. After returning to court several times, one of the summonses issued to Plaintiff was dismissed, and he was acquitted of all remaining charges at trial. \nOn May 9, 2014, near East 234th Street and Bronx Boulevard in Bronx, NY, Plaintiff was once again pulled over and subjected to a harassing stop and detention by Defendant Officers Vega and Henderson. Defendant officers falsely claimed Plaintiff ran a stop sign and intentionally or recklessly obstructed vehicular traffic, and issued Plaintiff a summons for Disorderly Conduct, as well as falsely claimed that Plaintiff’s car had an insufficient license plate light, and issued Plaintiff a DMV summons. Plaintiff was detained for a period of time by the Defendant officers without lawful cause. Plaintiff Christian spent approximately 29 hours in wrongful custody until the District Attorney declined to prosecute. Plaintiff Jonathan spent approximately 6 hours in wrongful custody and was compelled to make one court appearance before all charges against him were terminated on July 18, 2012.
