Upon presenting the required documents at the police precinct as the officer had requested, plaintiff was arrested without explanation by defendant officer Ashford and other unidentified officers.  While handcuffed, he was assaulted, beat, and kicked, resulting in a fractured finger and wrist.  Plaintiff was detained without being informed of the charges.  His request to give his jewelry to his family members for safekeeping was denied.
