The plaintiffs were put into a prisoner van and driven around for approximately five hours. Officers misrepresented to the Bronx County District Attorney's Office that the plaintiffs had committed criminal offenses and fabricated police paperwork and documentation including arrest reports. After being held for approximately 42 hours, Gonzalez was released from Bronx Central Booking without seeing a judge, and the DA declined to prosecute her. At one point during the drive, the van stopped and the officers removed the plaintiff from the van and twisted his arms and threatened him. The officers falsely informed employees of the Bronx County District Attorney's Office that the plaintiff had committed the offenses of assault and resisting arrest.
