Despite this, the officers proceeded to arrest and tightly handcuff her, even though they lacked legal cause to do so. Defendants then initiated criminal proceedings against Plaintiff using false and misleading police reports, falsely claiming that Plaintiff was in possession of marijuana. As a result, she was charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the 2nd degree. However, Plaintiff was never in possession of, nor had custody or control over, any marijuana, and no evidence of such was found on her. \n\nAfter several court appearances, all charges against Plaintiff were dismissed.
