Defendants were repeatedly told plaintiff was not the perpetrator of the crime they alleged. Plaintiff complied with defendants orders. Defendants handcuffed, arrested, transported plaintiff to the 14th Precinct, and placed him in a holding cell. Defendants falsely communicated to the NY DA that plaintiff had committed a crime, and provided the DA with false evidence. On May 7, 2012, plaintiff was transported to Manhattan Central Booking. A criminal prosecution was initiated against plaintiff. After being unlawfully detained for many hours, plaintiff was arraigned and charged with a crime he did not commit. Bail was set at $3,500. Plaintiff was unable to post bail and was remanded into NYC DoC custody. On May 11, 2012, plaintiff was released after he was able to post bail. Plaintiff was forced to return to court on four dates.
