While he was detained, an unknown officer submitted false charges to the DA intended to cover up the wrongful arrest and gain unauthorized overtime pay. Plaintiff had to make several court appearances to respond to these charges before they were dismissed in May 2013.\n\nAlso, on February 7, April 20, and August 24, 2010, plaintiff was lawfully present in Staten Island when he was approached by defendant NYPD Officers Leon Lewis, Andrew Fago, and Skye Morales, respectively. In each incident, the named officers and other NYPD officers accosted and assaulted plaintiff before arresting him. After each arrest, an unknown officer submitted a false charging statement to the Richmond County DA to cover up the false arrest, which resulted in the DA bringing charges against the plaintiff.
