Jones's mother called an ambulance and Defendant Officers Paul and Redzematovic investigated the incident as if Plaintiff had committed a crime against her mother (for whom she had been acting as a caretaker), ignoring exculpatory information about Plaintiff's known medical condition. Plaintiff's understanding was that her psychiatric episode was caused solely by her reaction to the medication. However, Defendant Officers repeatedly contacted Plaintiff's family members, telling them to have Plaintiff surrender herself to the Police.  Plaintiff's mother - the alleged victim of a crime - declined to press charges, but Defendants continued to press her. Plaintiff's mental health declined further as a direct result of this harassment and she was admitted to an in-patient facility following a suicide attempt. \nDefendants called the facility and explained that Plaintiff needed to go to the precinct to give a statement, which her mother could then corroborate and the incident would be closed. Defendants again called Plaintiff's brother and continued to harass the family, promising that Plaintiff would not be arrested. \nOn February 8, 2021, Plaintiff was with her brother outside 306 W 54th Street when Defendants separated her from her brother, detained her in a waiting room, and falsely accused her of criminal strangulation. Defendant Officers, including 10 unnamed officers, grabbed Plaintiff's head and body and began to search her clothing and personal belongings - again without cause. Finding nothing, Defendants used violent force against Plaintiff while conducting a search, including using excessively tight handcuffs.  Plaintiff was interrogated without counsel present and detained for a length of time at the precinct.  Defendants then transported Plaintiff to Central Booking where she was again detained for a significant period of time. Plaintiff was instructed by Defendants not to inform others of her mental health and medical issues.
