After coming back from retrieving his mail on the first floor, Plaintiff Peters was followed by defendant PO Maloney to his apartment door. PO Maloney prevented Plaintiff from closing his door. Defendant Officers Camacho, O'Keefe and John appeared and joined Maloney in drawing and aiming their guns at Peters and attempted to force their way into Peters' apartment. Plaintiff Smith heard the commotion and came to the door. Defendant POs burst into the apartment still with guns drawn, Maloney aiming his gun at Smith. Defendant POs violently struck Peters several times, knocking him to the floor, and one officer placed his knee on Peters' back, while another officer placed his foot on Peters' neck. Some of Peters' dreadlocked hair was pulled out. Peters informed the officers his hand was injured. Peters was handcuffed and taken to the 77th Precinct, and his pleas for medical attention for his hand were ignored, with the officers made racial slurs toward Peters. On April 1, 2013, Plaintiff's charges were dismissed with the court finding the police lacked probable cause for the arrest.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.353152.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/4323194/peters-v-city-of-new-york/"}],"id":"NLMM","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/NLMM"}
