The officers questioned plaintiff without justification, then unlawfully searched him. They arrested Plaintiff, purporting to have seen evidence of serious illegal activities. In the process, Plaintiff was tightly handcuffed, causing injury to his hands and wrists. Defendant officers fabricated evidence and forwarded it to prosecutors while simultaneously suppressing exculpatory evidence. Plaintiff was in custody for 7 months. During that time, he was assaulted by an inmate, causing injury to his face and requiring medical treatment. Department of Correction officers present for this attack failed to provide adequate supervision or protect Plaintiff.
