Defendant New York City Police Officers John Does 1-4 falsely communicated to the District Attorney's Office that Plaintiff had committed a crime and was in possession of drugs, for which he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. Plaintiff pled guilty and was sentenced to 5 days in jail which he served at Riker's Island, and thereafter remained jailed until July 2, 2013 when he was sentenced to that time served on a prior criminal case. \n\nThen, Defendant Correction Captain Murphy, knowing that Plaintiff should be released on time served, continued to imprison Plaintiff at Riker's Island in conditions that were unfit for prolonged inhabitation for approximately 24 hours from July 2, 2012 through July 3, 2012.\n\nPlaintiff sustained physical, psychological, and emotional trauma.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=qGkiyEpD/SWZBbsEtXVEBg==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Edwards, Thomas vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2014-03-28","disposition_date":"2015-01-22","payout_amount":10001,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"13CV06664","court":"U.S. District Court - Southern District NY","officer_name":"Leggio, Emanuele","summary":"On about March 9, 2013 at 11:30 pm, the Plaintiff was at the cross section of East 168th Street and Tinton Avenue in the Bronx County, New York City.
