Officer Joseph falsely arrested the plaintiff without probable cause, handcuffed her, and placed her in the back of a police vehicle. She was charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury, despite the allegations being fabricated and insufficient to support the charges.\n\nThe plaintiff was taken to the 83rd Precinct, where she was unlawfully searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and detained in a holding cell. While in the cell, the plaintiff became extremely upset, yelling, crying, and repeatedly banging her head against the wall, resulting in a severe headache. She required a CAT scan at the hospital.
