Defendant Officers falsely stated to the Kings County District Attorneys Office that Plaintiff committed the crime of Criminal Possession of a controlled substance despite knowing they lacked a legal and factual basis to allege Plaintiff committed any crime. On March 22, 2019, plaintiff was arraigned in Kings County Criminal Court and charged with crimes that defendant officers had no basis to allege. Based on the Officers false allegations, a Judge set bail on Plaintiff. Plaintiff remained incarcerated at Rikers Island for 5 days, until he was released on the 180/80 due to insufficient evidence presented to the Grand Jury.
