Plaintiff's life savings, constituting $6,000, were taken by the arresting officers, along with $47,000 belonging to plaintiff Javier Jaime. Officers later returned $34,378 of plaintiff Javier Jaime's appropriated funds, but not the remainder of the funds. The search, during which officers refused to present a warrant, resulted in the damage or destruction of numerous items, including plaintiffs' Playstation Portable console, X-box console, computer, and television. The two other Plaintiffs were charged and arraigned; their charges were still pending at the time the complaint was filed and they had pled not guilty to all charges.
