Two NYD officers, including Defendant Urman arrived at Plaintiff's home, conducted a visual inspection, and collected information. After 30 minutes, the officers left, but returned shortly thereafter to report that their sergeant, Defendant Roth, needed to come to Plaintiff's residence to speak to her. Defendant Roth arrived with an unknown NYPD officer, took Plaintiff's gun box, and began asking accusatory and aggressive questions regarding Plaintiff's missing handgun. Defendant Roth told Plaintiff she had to come to the precinct to discuss with detectives. Plaintiff was transported to the precinct in Defendant Roth's vehicle. \n\nDefendant officers Roth, Urman, and Vinzo surrounded Plaintiff, accused Plaintiff of lying, and threatened Plaintiff. Defendants prevented Plaintiff from leaving the precinct and, during questioning, ordered Plaintiff to sign a form consenting to a search of her home. Plaintiff refused to sign this consent form. Defendant officer Scheublin then called EMS staff for Plaintiff and told her that she had to submit to an exam by EMS staff, despite Plaintiff's refusal of treatment. Plaintiff, feeling threatened by Defendant officers, eventually acceded and was transported to a hospital via ambulance. At the hospital, Plaintiff learned that Defendant officers had lied and told staff that she was attempting to physically harm herself and told officers that she wanted to hurt herself. Plaintiff refused voluntary admission to the psychiatric ward and was sent him.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/DocumentList?docketId=zYGnhmBCWRhQJL7BakTMNQ==&display=all&courtType=Bronx%20County%20Supreme%20Court&resultsPageNum=1","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Mcknight, Christian vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2017-06-16","disposition_date":"2018-01-17","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"Zero Disposition","docket":"17CV02481","court":"U.S. District Court - Southern District NY","officer_name":"Scheublin, Jeremy","summary":"Police officers stopped plaintiff on the street at gunpoint, handcuffed him and searched him. Bain Center where he was an incarcerated inmate. Defendants John/Jane Doe 1-10 were correction officers and other staff employed by the Department of Corrections (\"DOC\"). While on the DOC bus, another inmate on the bus slashed the plaintiff's face with a scalpel weapon that he illegally possessed, causing severe scarring and facial disfigurement that required 75 stitches. This incident occurred because of the defendant correction officers' failure to follow policies/procedures to inspect inmates for weapons. Defendants not only failed to inspect the violent inmate, but they improperly secured him on the bus, allowing for the attack to occur even though defendants had actual or constructive knowledge of the danger the improperly restrained inmate posed to the plaintiff given that he had a propensity for attacking other inmates, which defendants were aware of.\n\nFurther, the defendants present had a duty to intervene to prevent the conduct, yet failed to intervene when they observed the assault taking place. Even after becoming aware of the serious medical state the plaintiff was in following the attack, they denied him access to adequate medical care and treatment for his injuries.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=M1Lj4fRZpf5VyoPu9D9/bQ==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Cruz, Hector vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2015-02-10","disposition_date":"2018-06-15","payout_amount":50000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"300398/2015","court":"Supreme Court - Bronx","officer_name":"Scheublin, Jeremy"},{"name":"Simon, Courtney, et al. vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2014-10-21","disposition_date":"2018-01-18","payout_amount":240000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"14CV08391","court":"U.S. District Court - Southern District NY","officer_name":"Scheublin, Jeremy","summary":"On April 10, 2014, plaintiffs were on a public sidewalk when defendants proceeded to stop, detain, seize, and search plaintiffs.
