Plaintiffs were using a van-based projector to criticize an event being held for David Koch, a major donor to the Met. NYPD Dep. Inspector Jessica Corey, commanding officer of the NYPD Central Park Precinct, directed her driver, Defendant NYPD officer Cohen, to stop the plaintiffs' van, issue them various summons and citations, and seize their projector equipment as arrest evidence. Plaintiffs believed the seizure of their equipment was intended to prevent them from participating via projector in an upcoming climate march. The New York County Criminal Court dismissed all the criminal summonses against plaintiffs sua sponte due to legal insufficiency, as the summonses were predicated on physical posting of advertisements, and the plaintiffs' speech was non-commercial and involved no posting.","documents":[{"url":"https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/23690276-depew-complaint","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/4552787/depew-v-city-of-new-york/"}],"image":"https://www.50-a.org/images/officer/RB97-jessica-corey.jpg","news":[{"url":"https://nypost.com/2022/05/13/jessica-corey-files-1-million-notice-of-claim-for-defamation/","title":"Former NYPD hate crimes boss files $1 million notice of claim for defamation","source":"New York Post","date":"2022-05-13"}],"id":"RB97","url":"https://www.50-a.org/officer/RB97"}
