The officers approached, stopped, and questioned the plaintiff without legal justification.  They then subjected the plaintiff to a search, including in and around his waistband.  Despite the fact that the officers found no illegal substance on the plaintiff’s person, they arrested him and held him in the 25th Precinct, where he remained for at least six hours before his release.\n\nAfter the plaintiff’s release, he was required to attend several hearings because the defendants caused him to be charged with various crimes.
