While the plaintiff was sleeping, the defendants forcibly entered the apartment based on a baseless search warrant supported by fictitious information. They alleged that the apartment contained MTA jackets, clothing, and money orders. The defendants grabbed the plaintiff, rear-handcuffed him excessively tightly, broke his bedroom door, and conducted a strip search in the apartment's bathroom, exposing him without probable cause. After the arrest, the plaintiff was taken to the 84th precinct, fingerprinted, photographed, and transferred to New York County Central Booking, where he was wrongfully detained for approximately six days. The defendants threatened him with protracted prosecution and imprisonment unless he confessed to crimes they knew he did not commit. They fabricated evidence and falsely accused him of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, petit larceny, and criminal impersonation in the second degree. All charges were later dismissed in favor of the plaintiff. Defendants who were present but not physically involved failed to intervene.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=DORLInCJoJg0S_PLUS_NCrgIuWQ==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Alexis, Rolandedwige vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2020-11-19","disposition_date":"2025-06-16","payout_amount":16250,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"523033/2020","court":"Supreme Court - Kings","officer_name":"Razzo, Marcelo I.","summary":"On March 13, 2019, at around 9:50 a.m., in the vicinity of 360 Adams Street in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Alexis was allegedly targeted by police officers, including Officer Razzo and unidentified officers, because of his race.
