Knowing that the plaintiff had a previous laceration on his leg, the defendants nonetheless threw the plaintiff onto the ground and began punching and kicking him. Several other officers entered the cell area and joined in the assault of the plaintiff as well. One of the officers tried to hush the plaintiff from pleading help by covering his mouth with their hand. The assault was caught on camera and revealed at trial.
