The officers searched the plaintiff, found no illegal contraband on her person, handcuffed her, handcuffed her 14-year-old daughter, and took her 42-day-old child away from her. \n\nThe plaintiff was then transported to a precinct where she was subjected to fingerprinting and photographs before she was placed in a cell and handcuffed to a radiator. The officers repeatedly denied the plaintiff an opportunity to make a phone call. The plaintiff was then transported to Central Bookings.\n\nThe officers falsely stated to the Richmond County District Attorney's Office that the plaintiff had committed the crime of possession of a controlled substance, a claim that the officers had no basis to allege. Thus, when charges were brought against the plaintiff, they were dismissed in her favor in June of that year.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=DiQU2LriSEr72InXekEwEQ==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Vassiliou, Lambros vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2018-02-22","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"18CV00779","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Shatkin, Leonid","summary":"Defendant Officers pulled over Plaintiffs car in which he was driving with his kids. When Plaintiff inquired the legal reason for his arrest, defendant officers stated they are checking for drugs. Plaintiff refused to give the officers permission to search the vehicle and this irritated the officers and they started beating up Plaintiff. They hit him in the back of the neck and head and pulled him out of the vehicle, pushing his head against the trunk. They found a prescription bottle with Plaintiff’s sister’s name on it, and accused Plaintiff of being a liar despite Plaintiff telling them that this vehicle and the prescription bottle belonged to his sister. They threw Plaintiff in a paddy wagon in an aggressive way, causing him to crash on the floor banging his left shoulder and head. They then drove in a reckless fashion and Plaintiff was hurt because he was handcuffed and had no seatbelt on. At the precinct, Plaintiff complained that he is in pain but defendant officers said that they do not care. The officer who beat up Plaintiff threatened him to not tell anyone about what happened, or he would make sure Plaintiff gets a lot of prison time.","documents":[{"url":"https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nyed.404871/gov.uscourts.nyed.404871.1.0.pdf","type":"complaint"}],"url":"https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/6671845/freese-v-doe/"},{"name":"Tarantola, Koron vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2016-10-24","disposition_date":"2017-02-21","payout_amount":15000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"15CV05903","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Shatkin, Leonid","summary":"On Oct. 24, 2013, plaintiff was at a residence when he was approached and arrested by officers, despite committing no crime or possessing any contraband.
