The defendants began assaulting and battering the plaintiff by punching him, striking him with a baton, slamming him to the ground, putting their knees on the plaintiff while he was on the ground, and forcefully placing the plaintiff in handcuffs. The defendants did not have probable cause, reasonable grounds, an arrest warrant, or justification to arrest the plaintiff. The defendant then took the plaintiff to the 17th Police Precinct, where he was held for a period of time. While the plaintiff was detained at the 17th Precinct, the defendants, without justification or probable cause, created and submitted an erroneous police report to cover up their actions and prosecute the plaintiff in bad faith. On July 25th, 2020, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the plaintiff was issued a baseless desk appearance and then released. As a direct result of the defendants' actions, the plaintiff suffered serious injuries throughout his body, great pain, distress, mental anguish, psychological trauma, shame, damage to his reputation, humiliation, and other injuries.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=canVSk3Ed5WryNNw1v1eXA==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Watson-Dean, Michael Depriest vs City of New York, et al.","start_date":"2018-12-13","disposition_date":"2019-08-08","payout_amount":3000,"disposition":"Settlement","docket":"18CV06894","court":"U.S. District Court - Eastern District NY","officer_name":"Ustelimov, Dennis","summary":"On September 5, 2016, plaintiff was shot in the arm and was subsequently in need of medical assistance.
