Plaintiff suffered substantial injury to his left shoulder, right wrist, back, head, and face. Plaintiff was handcuffed and arrested, even though he had not acted in a threatening or violent manner or engaged in any criminal activity during or before his arrest. Plaintiff was take to the 48 Precinct, where he was kept for several hours before being transported to a hospital for the numerous injuries sustained during his arrest. Plaintiff was arraigned at the hospital and charged with Attempted Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Plaintiff was then transported to a different hospital and was placed under the custody of the Department of Corrections. He remained in custody until he posted bail on July 11, 2019. Plaintiff's case was ultimately dismissed after multiple post-bail court appearances. He continues to suffer from the injuries sustained during his arrest and fears for his physical safety when he sees members of the police department.
