The defendants entered the premises seeking a target other than the plaintiff. Despite not being the target of the search warrant and not guilty of the alleged offenses, the plaintiff was taken into custody on false allegations of controlled substance possession and brought to an NYPD precinct. There, the plaintiff was subjected to a humiliating, warrantless, and unlawful manual cavity search, which yielded no illegal items. The defendants also unlawfully searched the plaintiff's cellphone, seized his phone and personal effects, and subjected him to an unlawful interrogation without access to counsel. On December 5, 2020, the plaintiff was arraigned and falsely charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. The assistant district attorneys falsely claimed the charges were bail-eligible and repeatedly misrepresented the plaintiff's bail eligibility, resulting in the plaintiff being wrongfully imprisoned from December 3, 2020, to February 8, 2021. During his incarceration at Rikers Island, the plaintiff became seriously ill with COVID-19 and was denied medical care. On February 8, 2021, the plaintiff was released in accordance with the law but had to continue appearing in court for a year with no developments in his case. On February 8, 2022, all criminal charges against the plaintiff were dismissed. As a result, the plaintiff suffered damages.","documents":[{"url":"https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=iF5DXFWkEVfyZYwzzlmP4g==","type":"complaint"}]},{"name":"Bonilla, Jose vs City of Ny, et al.","start_date":"2021-09-17","payout_amount":0,"disposition":"","docket":"158491/2021","court":"Supreme Court - New York","summary":"On or about July 9th, 2020, Plaintiff was lawfully within his apartment at 222\nEast 119th Street.
